DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a small endogenous nonapeptide (Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu) first isolated from the cerebral venous blood of sleeping rabbits. It is one of the most extensively studied peptides in sleep research, notable for its ability to modulate delta-wave (deep, restorative) sleep architecture and normalize disrupted circadian rhythm.
Beyond sleep, DSIP has been investigated as a modulator of the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis, buffering cortisol response to chronic stress, and as a neuroprotective agent in models of oxidative and ischemic injury. Clinical literature has explored its role in insomnia, shift-work sleep disorder, chronic pain and opioid withdrawal support.
BioPeptideX supplies DSIP as a 5 mg lyophilized powder, ≥99% HPLC verified, sealed under inert atmosphere and shipped with a Certificate of Analysis. Every vial is lot-traceable — for laboratory research use only.
